Christine Sastourné Après des études à l’école d’Arts Appliqués de Perpignan (France) en section Céramique, Christine Sastourné choisit de revenir vers le dessin et la peinture. Au début des années 80, elle découvre le groupe de peintres de la Figuration Libre (Robert Combas, Hervé Di Rosa, François Boisrond et Rémi Blanchard) lors d’une exposition à Lyon. Elle adhère immédiatement à ce courant de figuration sans complexes, anti-intellectuel et post-moderne, inspiré par la BD, la télé et les arts populaires. Mouvement qui trouve de nombreux échos en Europe et aux États-Unis. Christine Sastourné expose alors régulièrement depuis 1980, soit individuellement, soit en participant à des salons ou des expositions de groupe. Elle montre son travail à Paris, en région parisienne, en province et à l’étranger (Italie, Pays-Bas). Parallèlement, elle travaille à la surveillance au Musée du Louvre, et les longues heures passées au milieu des œuvres d’art ont bien sûr influencé son travail. En effet, ses toiles revisitent les différents genres de la peinture classique : mythologie, portrait, nature morte, paysage. Mais cette reprise passe toujours par le filtre d’un regard contemporain. Il s’agit d’une retraduction toute personnelle, autobiographique et actuelle. Le travail sur les colonnes a commencé en 1989, quand la France a célébré le bicentenaire de la Révolution de 1789. Christine Sastourné a participé à plusieurs expositions sur le thème « Bleu, Blanc, Rouge », aux couleurs du drapeau français, et c’est tout naturellement qu’elle a choisi de retrouver ce travail pour l’Ukraine, aux couleurs « Bleu et Jaune ». Consciente que les colonnes, érigées au centre des villes, ont toujours marqué la forme commémorative, Christine Sastourné a enroulé autour de colonnes en carton ses figures d’hommes et de femmes, nus comme les héros de l’Antiquité mais habillés de couleurs vives, parés de peintures de guerre ou de fête. Le projet réalisé ici a son autonomie, mais pourrait aussi être vu comme maquette d’une réalisation en grand format. Christine Sastourné, ayant fait plusieurs voyages en Europe de l’est, est très touchée par les événements en Ukraine. Elle veut montrer par ce travail sa solidarité et son soutien au peuple ukrainien. Gloire à L’Ukraine ! Слава Україні! Christine Sastourné After studying ceramics at the School of Applied Arts in Perpignan (France), Christine Sastourné chose to return to drawing and painting. In the early 1980s, she discovered the *Figuration Libre* group of painters (Robert Combas, Hervé Di Rosa, François Boisrond, and Rémi Blanchard) at an exhibition in Lyon. She immediately embraced this movement of uninhibited, anti-intellectual, and postmodern figurative art, which drew inspiration from comic books, television, and popular culture—a movement that resonated widely across Europe and the United States. Since 1980, Christine Sastourné has exhibited regularly, both in solo shows and through participation in art fairs and group exhibitions. She has showcased her work in Paris, the Paris region, other parts of France, and abroad (Italy, the Netherlands). During this time, she worked as a gallery attendant at the Louvre Museum; the long hours spent amidst masterpieces naturally influenced her art. Indeed, her canvases revisit classic painting genres—mythology, portraiture, still life, and landscape—yet always through a contemporary lens. Her approach is a deeply personal, autobiographical, and modern reinterpretation. Her work featuring columns began in 1989, when France celebrated the bicentennial of the French Revolution. Christine Sastourné took part in several exhibitions themed "Blue, White, Red"—the colors of the French flag—so it was only natural for her to revisit this motif for Ukraine, using the colors "Blue and Yellow." Recognizing that columns erected in city centers have long served as a form of commemoration, Christine Sastourné has wrapped figures of men and women around cardboard columns; they are naked like the heroes of antiquity yet clad in vibrant colors and adorned with war or celebratory paint. The project realized here stands on its own, yet it could also be viewed as the basis for a large-scale work. Having traveled extensively in Eastern Europe, Christine Sastourné is deeply moved by the events in Ukraine. Through this work, she wishes to demonstrate her solidarity with and support for the Ukrainian people. Glory to Ukraine! Слава Україні! Крістін Састурне Після вивчення кераміки в Школі прикладних мистецтв у Перпіньяні, Франція, Крістін Састурне вирішила повернутися до малювання та живопису. На початку 1980-х років вона відкрила для себе групу художників Figuration Libre (Робер Комбас, Ерве Ді Роза, Франсуа Буарон та Ремі Бланшар) на виставці в Ліоні. Вона одразу ж прийняла цей розкутий, антиінтелектуальний та постмодерністський фігуративний рух, натхненний коміксами, телебаченням та народним мистецтвом. Цей рух широко резонував у Європі та Сполучених Штатах. З 1980 року Крістін Састурне регулярно виставляється, як персонально, так і в групових виставках. Вона демонструвала свої роботи в Парижі, Паризькому регіоні, по всій Франції та за кордоном (Італія, Нідерланди). Водночас вона працювала в охороні в Луврі, і довгі години, проведені в оточенні творів мистецтва, природно вплинули на її творчість. Дійсно, її полотна переосмислюють різні жанри класичного живопису: міфологію, портрет, натюрморт та пейзаж. Але це переосмислення завжди фільтрується крізь сучасну призму. Це глибоко особисте, автобіографічне та сучасне переосмислення. Робота над колонами розпочалася в 1989 році, коли Франція святкувала двохсотріччя Революції 1789 року. Крістін Састурне брала участь у кількох виставках на тему «Синій, білий, червоний», кольори французького прапора, і для неї було цілком природно повернутися до цієї теми для України, в кольорах «Синій та жовтий». Усвідомлюючи, що колони, встановлені в центрі міст, завжди були символом пам'яті, Крістін Састурне обмотала свої фігури чоловіків і жінок навколо картонних колон. Оголені, як герої античності, вони одягнені в яскраві кольори, прикрашені військовими або святковими розписами. Проєкт, реалізований тут, стоїть сам по собі, але також може розглядатися як модель для більш масштабної роботи. Багато подорожуючи Східною Європою, Крістін Састурне глибоко зворушена подіями в Україні. Цією роботою вона хоче висловити свою солідарність та підтримку українському народу. Слава Україні! |
